Shared note
|
Pruea was a medicine woman. Her granddaughter Gladys Rolland Walters remembers when Pruea died (of cancer). She lived near her son Peter Rolland. Pruea lived outside, in the yard. Gladys remembers Pruea hollering loudly when she was dying, and Gladys who was about 6 years old remembers being afraid and crying. Her older sister Berdie took her by the hand down to the pond out of hearing. Gladys' father Peter was an herb doctor. She said whenever one of the children got married her father would built them a cabin near the house. |
