W.D. HUGHES CHESAPEAKE - William Daniel "Dan" Hughes, 65, passed away Sept. 9, 2005 at a local hospital. Mr. Hughes was born in Colerain, NC to the late William Matthew and Josephine White Hughes. He was a retired part owner of Cedar Roads Auto Parts and a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Hampton Hughes; daughters, Dana E. Coburn, Missy G. Gill and Holly M. Gay, all of Chesapeake; a son, William Daniel Hughes Jr. of Manteo, NC; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph D. Hughes. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Amos Eby officiating. The family will receive friends at 329 Woodards Ford Road, Chesapeake. The family would like to give thanks to Dan, a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather, our "sunshine" our "Poppy". Arrangements by Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake.
