SARAH B. MITCHELL AULANDER - Sarah Bazemore Mitchell, 90, died March 3, 2005. Mrs. Mitchell was born March 13, 1914, the daughter of the late "Buddy" Vann Bazemore and Cora Bazemore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Mitchell. She attended Women's College at Greensboro, NC, and taught school in Bertie and Hertford County Schools for many years. She was a lifetime member of the Aulander Volunteer Rescue Squad and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the John Finch Early VFW Post 11226. She was a faithful member of Aulander Baptist Church, where she served as the church historian. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Massey Funeral Home, Aulander, with the Rev. Robbie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Aulander Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
