Outlived son William by 15 years. Deceased son William is mentioned in his will. Purchased land on Cucklemaker Swamp in 1774, 435 acres from John Newborn, and another 275 acres from John Cake in 1783. Kept a public grist mill. Got another 100 acres from Thomas Ward in 1786. Owned no slaves in 1790, when he cought another 300 acres from Jasper Charlton, on the north side of Will's Quarter Swamp.
