Mrs. Hilda Mansfield Nichols Sawyer, 82, of Hamilton, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Beverly Health Care, Greenville. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Martin Memorial Gardens with Mike Huppman officiating. Mrs. Sawyer was born in Asheville on Feb. 23, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Alvin C. and Edna Leggett Mansfield. She was married to James Thomas Nichols, who preceded her in death June 1972. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Robersonville. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Moore of Greenville and Claudia Bag ley of Ayden; one son, James Thomas Nichols Jr. of Darlington, S.C.; one sister, Doris Bunting of Robersonville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home, Robersonville.
