GORDON B. ASBELL WINDSOR - Gordon Bennett Asbell, 69, died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at Chowan Hospital. Mr. Asbell was born in Bertie County on December 30, 1935 to the late Charnie Franklin and Julia Lawrence Asbell. Mr. Asbell was retired from Sprint. He also served his county in the US Navy. Mr. Asbell was a member of Greens Cross Baptist Church. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Edgewood Cemetery by the Rev. Michael Bailey. The family invites friends to the church fellowship hall after the service fotr food and fellowship. Memorial gifts may be given to the Greens Cross Baptist Church Building Fund, 439 US 17 North, Windsor, NC 27983. Walker Funeral Home is in charge. Survivors include a son, Gordon Vincent Asbell of Raleigh, a daughter, Cheryl DeBardelaben of Holly Spring; former wife and longtime friend, Rhoda Asbell of Raleigh; a sister, Cornelia Ann Asbell of Conelly Springs; and two grandchildren Robin Nicole and Mitchell Lind DeBardelaben of Raleigh. |
