MILLIE LEGGETT STOCKS Millie Leggett Stocks, 87, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004 in Bertie Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bertie County on August 25, 1916 to the late Slonnie Pritchard and Joseph Bryant Leggett. Mrs. Stocks was predeceased by her husband, Roy Alton Stocks, Sr. She was a member of Republican Baptist Church. She was a farmer and former store keeper. In her later years, she worked at Winston Park Rest Home. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2004 at Republician Baptist Church. Burial followed in Edgewood Cemetery. Survivors include daughters Louise S. Mizelle and Pearl S. White, both of Windsor, NC, sons Roy A. Stocks, Jr. and William Bryant Stocks, both of Windsor and George Spoolman Stocks of Ahoskie, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. The family received friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at Walker Funeral Home and at other times from the home of Pearl White in Windsor.
