SARAH C. PHELPS WINDSOR - Sarah Cowand Phelps, 76, a native of Windsor, died March 2, 2005 in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. Mrs Phelps was born in Windsor, NC on April 25, 1928 to the late Eugene and Minnie Wilson Cowand. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walker Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dennis J. Conner and the Rev. Jack Byrd. Memorial gifts may be made to Preschool and Sunday School Department at Cashie Baptist Church, 221 S. Queen St., Windsor, NC 27983 Mrs. Phelps was a child care provider and homemaker. She was a member of Cashie Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Survivors include her husband, Murray Phelps of Windsor; a son, Robert Phelps of Williamston; three daughters, Hazel Davis and Ann Phelps, both of Williamston and Ellen Davenport of Windsor; one brother, Luther Cowand of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sisters, Betty Hughes of Windsor, Ruby Harrison of Raleigh and Minnie Ridenour of Greenville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were handled by Walker Funeral Home, Windsor, NC. |
