EDENTON, N.C. - Kermit William Smith, 52, died Dec. 20, 1961, in Chowan Hospital Tuesday after a heart attack. A native of Chowan County, he was a son of the late John R. and Mrs. Ida Dail Smith. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Josephine Smith; five sons, John Elton Smith of Suffolk, Va., Ray Smith of Aulander, Tracy Smith, Douglas Smith and Rodney Smith of the home; a sister, Mrs. Joe Chappell of Belvidere; and four grandchildren. He was a member of Capehart Baptist Church in Bertie County. A funeral service will be held in Willioford Funeral Home today at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Garth Long and the Rev. H. C. Leake, pastor of Happy Home Church. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Tyner. |
