Born November 23, 1931, in Owensville to the late Walter and Leathe (Tayloe) McCan. He was united in marriage to Betty Jean Roberson November 23, 1952, in Owensville. He served as a school teacher for 30 years in Bethany, Missouri and the Gasconade County R-2 Schools. He owned and operated the A & W Restaurant in Owensville for many years. He served the Owensville Lions Club for over 50 years and was a member of the Owensville Moose Lodge 878. He also served on the Owensville Park Board. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Leathe (Tayloe) McCan. His survivors include his wife, Betty Jean (Roberson) McCan; his children, Douglas McCan and friend, Rachel of Owensville, Deborah and husband, Michael Hudson of Honolulu, Hawaii, Donna and husband Glenn Barone of North Caldwell, New Jersey, Diann and husband Jack Lettmann of Owensville; one brother, Robert McCan and wife Peggy of Falls Church, Virginia; grandchildren, Andrew Barone and Olivia Barone; step-grandchildren, Kyle Rapps, Kory Rapps, Krystal Rapps, James Cody Thompson, and Slade Thompson.
