On 19 June 1793, Abner Lawrence was No. 50 on the list of Pugh's District of Bertie County and had 200 acres and one white poll. On 19 January 1804, he sold Jonathan Jacocks for $200 a tract of 200 acres on Marsh Swamp adjoining Luke Collins' Mill Pond, witnessed by William Lawrence. On 10 February 1810, Abner Lawrence, Sr., deeded to son Jeremiah Lawrence for love and five shillings 50 acres bought from Jonathan Jacocks, witnessed by Jonathan Jacocks and Elizabeth Robertson; also, to Abner Lawrence, Jr., for love and five shillings 50 acres adjoining Thomas Lawrence and the Elisha Ashburn heirs, witnessed by Jeremiah Lawrence and Jonathan Jacocks.
