11-20-1869 Joseph Nathan Thomas bought 140 acres land for $33.00 from the estate of Robert W. Bird. (George W. Cobb administrator) The land was formally owned by Lewis Thomas, this land was sold by the Courts to turn real estate into assets. Lewis married Ester Pierce 1/29/1853, daughter of Thomas Pierce. Lewis Thomas had disappeared for a number of years, was expelled from Capeharts Church June 8, 1861. Lewis joined Confederate forces 8/9/1862 age 37.
