James Currin - b. 1727 in Virginia was the first of this name found in Granville County. He died in Granville County in 1781. He left a will in which he named his wife and sons Hugh and James as his executors. Since Elizabeth Wheeler Currin qualified as one of the executors, it appears that James Currin married Elizabeth Wheeler. Apparently they were married in Virginia as her name was found on land deed transactions there before they moved to Granville County, although their marriage bond has not been found. |
