Shared note	James M. Tayloe, age 97, a long time Bristol resident, passed away after a short illness in Roswell, Ga. He was born in Bertie County, N.C. and graduated from the University of N.C. in 1939. He served four years and eleven months in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II crossing Africa and being stationed in Italy. Mr. Tayloe moved to Bristol in 1946 and was a CPA at Dent K. Burke for most of his 60 plus years in Bristol. He was married to Eileen Hoggard Tayloe, also of Bertie County (who passed away in 1977) and subsequently married Jane Elzey Tayloe, originally of the Philadelphia area. Jane and he moved to Ga. in 2009 where she passed away in 2013. Survivors include one daughter, Ellen T. Parkerson (Hal), of Marietta, Ga.; one son, David M. Tayloe (Elizabeth), of Abingdon, Va.; three step-children, Bambi Berry (Robert), of Rome, Ga., Susan DeLong, of Greensboro, N.C., and Jim Morrison (Cathy), of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one niece, Nan Knorr; and two nephews, Frank Tayloe and Jim K. Wyatt. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joe Dunagan officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Bob Copeland, Frank Tayloe, Jim K. Wyatt, Bob Berry, Jim Morrison and Fletcher Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathaniel Tayloe, Ryan Tayloe and Zac Johnson. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Emmanuel Episcopal Church; 700 Cumberland St.; Bristol, VA 24201. The family will receive friends prior to the service time from Noon until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be left for the family at akardfuneralhome.com.
