VIRGIE COWAND NORTHCOTT Virgie Cowand Northcott, 84, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004, in Guardian Care of Ahoskie. Northcott was born in Bertie County, a daughter of the late Starkey Valentine and Nettie Jernigan Cowand, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie. She was a graduate of Chowan College and East Carolina Teacher's College, now East Carolina University, and taught in public schools of Herford and Bertie Counties. Survivors include her daughter, Judy Tucker and husband Tommy of Greenville, granddaughter Kathryn Thurston, two great grandchildren, brothers, Thomas Cowand and Jerry Cowand, both of Merry Hill, and sisters, Susan Harden of Windsor and Betty Mienke of California. Her husband L.T. Northcott, predeceased her. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 27, 2004 at
